No human being can completely avoid being in hospital. Now that health care is extremely commercialized, each patient and his/her family are destined to suffer umpteen painful situations from the unending wait in hospital corridors, the harassment and robbery in the name of treatment to the financial burden.  Melattur Palliative Care Society was started in June 2002, by a group of selfless volunteers with an aim of ensuring complete and comprehensive care to helpless human beings suffering from terminal and chronic illnesses.

After all the high tech robbery in the name of tests and treatments, many patients are told, “we have nothing to do - You may go home.” Serious ailments make life hell for poor human beings. We can see them around us; or in our own homes itself. Any moment, anybody of us can fall ill and become bed ridden, killing all our dreams, present and future. The worst moments of loneliness or even poverty cannot be written off in anybody’s case.

That is why Melattur Palliative Care Society acts towards a better world, by creating a new way to help those suffering from diseases. Our works do not end in supplying medicines. We help the patient as well as his family physically, mentally, financially, socially and spiritually too.
